Pumpkin Picking Info

In late May, the pumpkin fields are prepared for planting. We seed 20 acres with 20 varieties. The remaining summer months are spent, thinning, hoeing, spraying and fertilizing. Mother Nature is always in the mix with disease, drought, flood and insects. Every year brings us a new challenge! Our pumpkin fields are not irrigated, so we are always hoping the sun will shine and the rains will come...just not all at once.

Come September, we will have oodles of pumpkins of all shapes, colors and sizes for you to choose from.

From Mid-September through October, hop aboard the free tractor pulled hay ride to the patches on Saturday and Sunday. This wagon runs from 10 am to 4pm (weather permitting) and is located near the parking lot at the "U-Pick Checkout". Otherwise, we encourage you to walk to the fields for a true pumpkin seeking adventure. We also offer lots of pre-picked pumpkins gathered around the buildings so you don't have to go too far.

All of our pumpkins are sold by their size using "size rings". There are 6 different sizes. You are encouraged to measure your pumpkin using the rings which are located around the farm buildings and near the fields.

DID YOU KNOW

That the Irish brought this tradition of pumpkin carving to America?
The tradition originally started with the carving of turnips. When the Irish immigrated to the U.S., they found pumpkins a plenty and they were much easier to carve for their ancient holiday.
